Join us in celebrating our incredible CASA Advocates!

CASA for Douglas County is proud to celebrate our volunteer advocates during our 2nd annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on April 17th, 2024 at Lauritzen Gardens. This is an annual event where we gather to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible individuals who serve as the backbone of our organization—our dedicated CASA Volunteer Advocates. These individuals commit their time, compassion, and dedication to amplify the voices of children who have experienced trauma related to abuse or neglect, ensuring that their voice is heard in the child welfare system.

Introducing the 2024 Volunteer Appreciation Speaker Andrew Bridge!

“Andrew Bridge spent 11 years in Los Angeles County foster care. After aging out, he attended Wesleyan University, then graduated from Harvard Law School and was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship. He began his legal career representing children against the State of Alabama, where his work resulted in the closure of one of the country’s most notorious psychiatric institutions, the Eufaula Adolescent Center. Returning to Los Angeles, he became CEO of The Alliance for Children’s Rights, representing children in the foster care system where he grew up. Andrew is the co-founder of National Adoption Day and New Village Girls Academy for pregnant and parenting teens. His memoir Hope’s Boy was a New York Times bestseller and Washington Post Best Book of the Year. Most recently, he was a member of the executive management team for Illinois DCFS, and with Arizona as his home, he now serves on the Arizona Foster Care Review Board. His second book, The Child Catcher, will be released in September 2024.”

Join us for an evening celebrating the lasting impact of our volunteer advocates! This is a great chance for any company to align with a cause that creates positive change for children impacted by the child welfare system.
