Register NowThe Omaha STEM Ecosystem will host its first STEM Connect Series event of 2024, “Connecting a Community’s Learning Landscape,” on Thursday, Feb. 15. This event will connect the region’s business, education and nonprofit sectors to discuss initiatives that can further strengthen Omaha’s STEM landscape.
Local professionals will hear from Dr. Nichole Pinkard, Alice Hamilton Professor of Learning Sciences and Northwestern University and founder of Digital Youth Network, which developed the CitiesLearn technology platform. CitiesLearn is a purpose-built solution for strengthening STEM ecosystems, connecting local providers, documenting young people’s journey and empowering parents all while generating actionable analytics to build and sustain a healthy local ecosystem.
Dr. Pinkard’s session will share how her team captured critical data about out-of-school programs to develop data-driven strategies to assure quality youth opportunities are available in the neighborhoods that need them most. The session will be impactful for community leaders to determine if a similar approach can be implemented in Omaha to help fuel the future workforce.
