Lamp Rynearson continues a legacy of leadership and announces the transition of its long-standing Chief Financial Officer, Brett Wawers. Wawers will retire at the end of 2023, after 40 years of dedicated service. With Mr. Wawers’ retirement, the company is excited to announce its incoming CFO, Robin Matthes, and Controller, April Will. Together, they carry forward the legacy of financial stability and excellence Lamp Rynearson is known for.
Brett Wawers joined Lamp Rynearson in 1983 and has been an invaluable figure in shaping the company’s financial stability and growth; along with unmatched dedication to improving infrastructure for the City of Omaha and surrounding communities through projects like the Omaha Riverfront Redevelopment and Eppley Airfield. His exemplary leadership, financial acumen, and tireless commitment have been instrumental in the company’s continued success. His legacy will be celebrated by all those who have had the privilege of working alongside him.
Robin has worked with Brett over the last three years, preparing for her new role as Chief Financial Officer, and has over two decades of experience in public and non-profit accounting. She is well-equipped to lead the accounting team and continue the legacy of fiscal responsibility and strategic financial management.
April Will, has been appointed as the new Controller. April has a diverse accounting background, serving local businesses in senior accounting roles across various industries, including heavy highway and vertical construction. April’s meticulous approach and commitment to excellence further strengthens the financial team.
We are grateful to Brett for his outstanding contributions over the past 40 years. His retirement is a significant moment in the company’s history, but it also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter with Robin Matthes as CFO and April Will as Controller.
