Special Guest Summary: American sea hero Captain Richard Phillips offers a powerful and timely message of duty, leadership, and faith in oneself. For five days in April 2009, Captain Phillips was the center of an extraordinary international drama when he was captured by Somali pirates who hijacked his ship, the Maersk Alabama, a container ship ferrying food aid to East Africa. Captain Phillips credits his time as a Scout helping him through those dramatic events.
