OBOP celebrated commencement on Sept. 16 at the CHI Health Event Center. 107 individuals walked across the stage after completing all the requirements of the Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ By World, a ten-week long workshop designed to empower. People gain hope and resources needed to make the changes in their lives and move towards stability and self-sufficiency.
Ceciwa Khondowe, an alum of the program who delivered the Alum Address, asked this question to the graduates: “Who is stopping you from dreaming big, or from planning your future? It is your choice to get up no matter where you are in life. I have learned that the simple steps I choose to take could ultimately lead to something bigger in the future…“you are not alone” on this path. OBOP is here with open arms to walk with you.”
Marcus Bell, CEO, says, “I am extremely proud of our graduates who took a great step in the direction of success, not only for themselves, but for their families.”
